Little One’s Walking+ 30-minute class (Parent Assisted)

This class is for all of the little ones who are walking and want to get up and move. We ask parents and guardians to join their children in various dances, games and activities that teach balance, fine motor skills, rhythm, and most importantly…to have fun!

Ages 3 to 4 years – 30-minute class

This introductory dance course is designed for developing dance skills at a young age.  Through a combination of Ballet, Jazz, free movement, and dance-based games, your child will learn skill sets such as teamwork and creativity, and gain self-confidence while learning to integrate rhythm and movement.

Ages 5 years and older

Tap is a very unique form of dance, characterized by metal plates on the sole and heel of the shoe, allowing dancers to create percussive sound with their feet as musical instruments. The student will explore new and exciting rhythms through a series of barre exercises, across-the-floor combinations and centre work.

Ballet/Jazz Combo

Ages 4-5 and 6-7 years

This class blends the technical foundation of Ballet with the energy and style of Jazz. Students will develop posture, grace, strength, and flexibility through barre and centre work, across-the-floor progressions, and dance routines. With a focus on discipline, technique, and artistry, dancers will also learn Ballet terminology and Jazz lines while building strong foundations in both styles.

Pre-Hop/Mini Hip-Hop

Ages 4 -5 / 6-7 years

A fun introductory class to Hip-Hop.  Movements are slower and simplified compared to the fast pace of a regular Hip-Hop class with a greater focus on rhythm and attitude.

Ages 8 years and older

Acro is a combination of dance and gymnastics, targeting the artistic and controlled use of movement, strength, agility, balance and flexibility.  With unique choreography, students will learn techniques to execute captivating movements, while assuring their safety.

Little One’s + 30-minute class (Parent Assisted)

Join us as we explore rhythm and movement through music, learning about animal sounds, stop and go movements, and fundamental colours. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to bond with their children in this interactive and fun environment, using instruments, balls, and other sensory items to enhance the experience. It’s a delightful way to foster creativity, motor skills, and a love for movement from an early age!

Ages 3 to 4 years – 30-minute class

This class is for all the little ones who just want to get up and move.  Various exercises, dance games and stretches are taught to fun and upbeat music.  This class incorporates all of the beginner FUNdamentals of dance, focusing on rhythm, balance, flexibility and following instruction, in a class setting.

Ages 6 years and older

Lyrical is a style of dance that involves storytelling with emotion, portrayed through body movement and facial expression, and includes a strong focus on the technical aspects of Ballet.  This smooth and rhythmic style will encourage dancers to interpret the emotional content of a piece and gain a better understanding of choreography.

Ages 4 years and older

Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms.  Posture, technique, barre, centre work, Ballet terminology and anatomy will be taught through an age-specific syllabus, according to the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (B.A.T.D.).  Students will focus on discipline, posture, grace, strength, memorization, and will have the option to train towards the B.A.T.D. examination process.

Hip-Hop

Ages 8 years and older

Hip-Hop is a high-energy, fun form of dance that is full of attitude.  This style is set to a strong beat and emphasizes body isolations, coordination, freestyle movement, and rhythm.  Hip-Hop is seen in many dance movies and current music videos.

Musical Theatre

Ages 6 years and older

Combine choreography, movement, and acting through theatrical performance while developing an appreciation for it as an artistic language. Sharpen your dance and acting skills while learning some of Broadway’s best musicals. An exciting class for students who like to perform.

Ages 2 to 3 years – 30-minute class (Parent Optional)

This class has been designed as a stepping stone for our little ones aged 2-3. It combines the dance-based games and activities from Tumble Monkeys, with the introductory ballet and jazz movements of Starlite.  Your child will learn skill sets such as teamwork, creativity, rhythm and basic dance steps all while gaining self-confidence.

Tiny Tappers

Ages 3 to 4 years – 30-minute class

An introductory dance class teaching rhythm and movement through basic tap steps and dance moves.  Students are encouraged to make as much noise as they can with their feet to explore the different sounds their taps can make.

Contemporary

Contemporary

Ages 8 years and older

Focusing on emotional expression, this versatile form of dance explores different styles of movement, with a strong emphasis on technique.  In this class, students will learn to move sharp, gracefully or even both ways at once, through a series of across-the-floor combinations and centre routines.  Full of choreographic possibilities, Contemporary can be danced to all types of music and maybe fused with any other dance style to create a new and unique series of movements, as often seen on “So you think You Can Dance”.

Get ready to jump, kick and turn through a combination of barre exercises, across-the-floor movements, and dance routines.  Students will learn technique and dance lines, as well as gain flexibility and build strength towards their dance skills. Jazz students will have the option to train towards the B.A.T.D. examination process.

This introductory course will provide your child with the basic skills necessary to prepare them for the more advanced movements they will learn to execute in our Acro program.
