Miss Sarrah (She/Her)

“One Of The Lessons That I Grew Up With Was To Always Stay True To Yourself And Never Let What Somebody Else Says Distract You From Your Goals.” – Michelle Obama

Sarrah started dancing at the age of 3 and trained in various styles; Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Acro, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, Musical Theatre and Song and Dance. Over the years, her passion for dance grew, and at age 7, she joined her competitive dance team. Sarrah has always loved working with younger children, so at age 12, when she was offered to assist one of her teachers in the younger children’s classes, she jumped on the chance. Here is where she discovered her passion for teaching, and by age 14, she was teaching dance classes on her own.

At 15, Sarrah had the honour of representing Canadain Students at an international student conference in China, where she had the opportunity to dance for hundreds of international students. While still in Highschool, Sarrah was able to take her passion for dance and use it to help others by taking part in two music video-style campaigns. The first was for the YMCA strong kids campaign and the second, See Me (I’m In Here), a PSA on raising awareness for mental health.

After high school, Sarrah spent eight months studying abroad in England before moving to Kingston, ON, in 2016 to continue her university studies. Sarrah is a graduate of Queen's University with a Bachelor of Art in Psychology and Sociology; She also holds a Certificate for digital marketing from St. Lawrence College.

Sarrah started with Kingston Danceforce Studios in the fall of 2016 where she has been able to harness her creativity through choreographing competitive routines. Sarrah’s choreography has won multiple awards at various competitions across Ontario.

Through dedication and hard work, Sarrah understands that to be a great teacher, she must continue to learn every day, both from her students and coworkers. With continuous training, Sarrah promises to push her creativity and find new ways of inspiring young people.

Miss Jane

Jane fell in love with dance before ever taking a dance class- she was registered in baseball and was better at pirouettes with the batt than hitting the ball. She started dancing in a studio at age 7 and continued dancing competitively until she graduated high school. Jane completed RAD ballet examinations and Al Gilbert Tap Examinations during her dance training.

Jane began assisting her dance teachers at age 11 (Burlington, Ontario) and began leading classes as a primary instructor at age 15 (Edmonton, Alberta). She taught preschool-age dance classes until she completed the Al Gilbert Syllabus in her own dance training, at which point she found a passion for teaching tap dance! Jane has led many students to successful completion of tap dance examinations, on-stage performances, and competition experiences.

In addition to her love for dance, Jane is a published neuroscientist (University of Alberta, 2023), biomechanical expert, and now, a medical student! She is passionate about teaching students the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of movements within dance. Her methods of teaching are rooted in both dance history and exercise science!

Since then, she has developed her ability to choreograph, movement quality, and became a program leader in her graduating year. In 2022, Tori traveled to Slovenia to compete with Team Canada Dance at the IDO World Championships, where she was awarded a gold medal in Adult Ballet.
